Honoring the Power and Legacy of Bucking Bull Champions
When I was asked to create the ABBI Classic World Champion Award, I wanted to honor both the rich tradition and the incredible power of these bulls. These aren’t just any animals—they’re the heart and soul of professional rodeo, and ABBI has done a tremendous job preserving that legacy.
These bulls are real athletes. They’re judged on their own merit, and the sculpture needed to reflect that power—mid-kick, showing what it means to be a champion.
ABBI, founded to preserve bucking bull genetics and to give these animals their own platform, has changed the game in bull breeding and competitions. From humble beginnings, their registry has grown to over 180,000 animals, producing some of the sport’s most legendary bulls, like Bushwacker.
This sculpture is a tribute to the bulls that come out on top after competing in ABBI events, which have some of the biggest paydays in the business. Winning this award means more than just money—it means being crowned a champion in the world’s largest bucking bull registry.
