Golden Microphone Award
The Golden Microphone Award, commissioned by Wrangler, is my tribute to the voices that bring rodeo to life—the announcers. These folks don’t just call the action; they make you feel every second of it. And I wanted this piece to capture that magic.
The announcers are storytellers, just like me in a way. They’re the ones who bring the ride to life for everyone in the stands. I wanted to create a bronze that speaks to that connection.
The bronze shows an announcer on horseback, microphone in hand, as if he’s ready to narrate the next big moment. Like all my pieces, it’s crafted using the lost wax casting process, ensuring that every detail is perfect. The Golden Microphone Award is given at the National Finals Rodeo, and for me, it’s a real honor to be part of recognizing the voices that shape the sport.
