Yakama Canutt’s Best Ride

Description

Yakima Canutt on Tipperary – Limited Edition Bronze

Now here’s a story worth tellin’. Yakima Canutt was one of the toughest bronc riders to ever sit a saddle, and Tipperary was a bronc with a reputation—dumped over 80 riders before Yakima showed him what’s what at the Tri-State Round-up in Belle Fourche back in 1920. This 19” tall bronze captures that legendary moment, inspired by a famous photo from Ralph R. Doubleday.

Crafted by yours truly, TR Chytka, this piece is part of a limited run of just 100 editions, all hand-sculpted with the same attention to detail you’d expect in something born out of true rodeo history. Each one’s long sold out now, but the spirit of Yakima and Tipperary lives on at the High Plains Heritage Center, where this bronze stands proud.

Made in 1985, this sculpture isn’t just another art piece—it’s a tribute to the rough-and-tumble days of rodeo, where a rider like Yakima Canutt could make a name for himself by takin’ on a bronc like Tipperary. Though you won’t find any more of these up for grabs, their legacy rides on, just like the legends they honor.
